Folk and Bluegrass Ensemble
Learn to play and be part of a bluegrass band!  Students ages 8 and up will learn 3-4 songs and perform at a concert in the park.  Classes will be held Mon. – Fri., July 11 – 22, at Hobble Creek Elementary (1145 E. 1200 N.)  Students must provide their own instrument including but not limited to: fiddle (violin), viola, cello, guitar, mandolin, banjo, bass, and ukulele.  Fee is $45 which includes a music book.  If you have any questions contact Jessica Knight (801) 400-6332.

Beginning: 10-11:00  Little or no experience required.  Students will learn basic chords, rhythm, and accompaniment, solos, timing, and some theory through songs.
Intermediate: 9-10:00   Students with some prior experience playing their instrument (not necessarily bluegrass or folk music) will learn fun songs to perform together.  Students should feel fairly comfortable with basic chords and be able to read some music or tablature.
Advanced: 8-9:00  This class should be exciting and challenging to most experienced students.  We will be learning high-energy, fun and interesting songs at a fast-pace.  Students should be competent in reading music or tablature, and know most chords and be very comfortable making chord changes.  This is a fun experience as a real bluegrass band.
